Outdoor Educational Complex

 

Overview:

The Tulare City School District (TCSD) is transforming nearly 27 acres into the Outdoor Educational Complex, an exciting new hub for student athletics and community activities. The project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2025.

Purpose and Use:

This new complex will provide dedicated space for sports programs, ensuring sustainability and reducing wear on individual school sites. It will serve as the central location for:

  • After-school sports for 4th–6th and 7th–8th grades through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP)
  • Sports practices, and games currently held on school grounds
  • Community green spaces and recreational activities outside of school hours

Complex Features:

  • Natural grass field space with lighting for evening events
  • Dedicated parking lot for convenience and accessibility
  • Bathroom Facilities for student athletes and visitors
  • Gated and monitored safety features

Impact:

This complex will provide an enriched space for students to grow as athletes and leaders, encouraging physical activity and teamwork. It also alleviates pressure on existing school grounds, helping maintain community spaces and improving the student experience by providing a purpose-built environment for practices and games.
