GATE

Logo for Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) with an open gate design.

The Tulare City School District supports gifted and talented students by providing advanced learning opportunities within the regular classroom. Elementary GATE students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th grade will also have the opportunity to participate in GATE classes throughout the year in grade-level cohorts during regular school days.  Students may also participate in Honors Math and ELA classes at the Middle School level.  The District also provides GATE/Extended Learning resources on our learning resources site. These activities are designed to encourage bright, talented students to become analytical thinkers, creative producers, and practical problem solvers.

If a parent believes his or her student is in the top 1% of intellectual ability when compared to his or her peers, the parent should contact the school principal for more information about the GATE referral process.
