Title 1
Title 1 is the largest federally funded educational program in the United States. This funding is used to help eligible schools meet their educational goals. Mission Valley has more than 40% of its students in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, so we are eligible for Title 1 funding. My job as the Title 1 Resource Teacher is to help raise student achievement at MV, provide staff development for teachers, and to improve parent and community involvement.

Student of the Month Breakfast
Every month teachers select students who exemplify a Pillar of Character to be honored at our Student of the Month Breakfast. I take photos of each student to create a slide show shown at the breakfast on the big screen. Now you can share this with friends and family by having them visit our website!

Thinking Maps
You may have seen your child use or talk about Thinking Maps.
These are eight different visual learning tools, each one representing a particular thought process. All of our teachers have been trained in using these maps, which become lifelong tools for our students.
