Welcome to Second grade!  I am ready to begin another great year at Mission Valley.  Teamwork, in my opinion, is very important to the success of your child.  You will find that the idea of working together is what builds the foundation of our Second grade class.  I am so lucky to have your child in my class this year. 

        At all times, I hope that you feel welcome to volunteer your time to help out in our classroom.  I know that unfortunately this isn’t always possible, although I want you to know that your help and support at home is just as meaningful to the growth of your child.  I would like to stress the importance of building a partnership between the school and the family, so if at any time you have a concern or question about how we could work together to help your child, feel free to let me know by either calling or e-mailing me.  I am happy to be a part of the “Mission Valley Family” and am excited to be such an influential part in your child’s education!!

Homework is not only good reinforcement of your child’s grade level expectancies, but it also reinforces responsibility.  Your child must complete the homework packet and return it completed each Thursday in order to receive full credit, unless other arrangements are made with me.    

     Homework will go home every Friday and is to be returned completed by the following Thursday.  If your child is having difficulty solving any of the homework, please just write me a little note on the reading log and spelling sheet and I will discuss it with your child at school.  There will be no homework penalty for this.
