We’d like to welcome you and your student to 5th grade at Mission Valley! This will be a busy and fun-filled year both academically and socially!

5th GradeThroughout 5th grade, your students will explore the following academic focuses:

  • Persuasive and Narrative writing; Response to Literature; Research Report  
  
  • Reading Comprehension and Critical Thinking Skills 
  • Types of Matter; Changes in Matter; Earth’s Water and Weather; The Solar System; Human Body Systems; Structure of Living Things; Plant Structures and Functions
