New Teacher Support System
The primary focus of our New Teacher Support System is to structure the teaching/learning environments so each new teacher has the opportunity to realize his/her maximum potential.
We believe that in order to have a high quality education system, we must have educators who are well prepared for the challenges of teaching. We are committed to assisting teachers in their professional development and have provided structured support for beginning teachers for numerous years.
The Tulare City School District has received approval from the Commission on California Teacher Credentialing as a Professional Teacher Induction Program. Participants in the program complete all of the necessary requirements for the Professional Clear Credential over the course of two years. Tulare is one of the few districts in our area that provide this opportunity through a district-sponsored program.
Induction participating teachers are assigned mentors who are highly qualified and specially trained to guide them through their first years of teaching. These activities assist in growing in the California Standards for the Teaching Profession.
